2+2 Tasmins

was it a Tasmin that was a 2+2? anyone know anything about them and how many are around, and does anyone know any for sale? pics would be good

The Wedge does indeed have a 2+2 flavour, which is of course the king of all Wedges, not that I'm biased or anything

There was about 49 made, 39 ish 280s and 10 ish 350s, these figures vary. All fixed head.

What about the back seats, do they get used, I'd need to be able to fit 2 small children in them

and do you know of any for sale?

Those photos were of an initial bit of repair and maintenance. I've since done a body-off restore and is up and running now, though currently hibernating whilst DIY has taken over for a bit!

The back seats are more for show on mine. Two small children are perfectly possible, think I've heard up to age 9 mentioned, though I've not tried to fit any in You'd need to have seatbelts retro fitted. I've seen a couple of really nice reupholstered 2+2 interiors with rear belts/harnesses in, this one springs to mind:

I don't know of any for sale at the moment, there's been a couple on ebay in the last couple of months. I'll let you know if I hear of any.....

I don't think you do need rear seatbelts, not if they weren't original equipment.

Though I stand to be corrected...

Ah yes, you don't need them as such, not legally or MOT speaking. But they're preferable if you like the children you're putting in the back

thanks for that, they do look good, but I need a 2+2, which I don't think they are.

I'm kinda hoping nothing is around at the moment, cause I'm not in a position to get it, but if something does then I may well be tempted to get it and store it until I can afford to do something with it.

I seem to remember that my twin brother and I used to sit in the back seats of my father's +2 Tasmin up to about age 10 and I don't remember it being a problem.

I was only 10, however, and at the time it must have seemed like a bit of an improvement from the back of the 3000M that he'd had before this...

There is a white 350 2+2 for sale at a dealers in Sheffield at the moment. The new old stock mint 350se alloys I got off ebay were removed from it to re-fit the original wheels before offering the car for sale. dealer claims that RT racing had done alot of work on it recently?

I seem to remember at a PH meet a few years back there was a white 350 2+2 with a lady owner who'd had it virtually all its life (if not from new)... wonder if it's that one?

Duncan down in East Sussex was selling his 350i 2+2 a while back .. don't know if he still has it.

Can't think of his PH name but if you are interested - just call Richard Flitner the East Sussex RO (number in Sprint) and he will know for sure.

thanks, although I'm not in a position to buy yet, not for a couple of months, hopefully you'll still have it then. Just doing a bit of early homework. Would love to see some pics of it though and any idea of price?

I'm in Cambridgeshire if you want to meet up at any point, you're more than welcome to have a go (that's if you're insured).

Depends on how tall you are whether the rear seats are usable. I had the front seats in their rearmost position and there was no legroom.
