Anyone taken a decatted/sleeved/bombed Rv8 car to, say, France? Any grief from the authorities either on arrival or en route? Fancy doing Le Mans but wondering whether I'll get past border control without some more silencing lol

Agree with Snorky - took my cherry bombed Chim on last years Furball and they all loved it - even the Swiss were cheering us through their villages.

I'd never considered our French friends to have taste, but there was a throng of French students in Bath on Sunday, most of whom stopped, stared and generally appreciated my Griff. Even got a few cheers from them when I pulled away from the lights. evil

Been out in France a few times, the locals love them!

Got stopped by the police in Reims once by the police, who just wanted to know what car it was!

In France last summer with newly fitted Power supers sports exhausts on the Tam - we had many admiring comments from the French about the sound, and many long looks from Le Plod but no problems. I think you'd be pretty unlucky to get pulled up, as even old women in remote villages watch intently as you drive past.....

I wouldnt worry about it; especially during Le Mans week. Northern France is pretty much full of bonkers sports cars being driven with gusto. I thought my Chim with sports 'zorst was fairly fruity until I got to Dover. Sounded like a Nissan Micra compared to all the Ultimas, Wedges, Cerbies doing the same journey with you nuts

I was a passenger in a 'normal' car on my first Le Mans and regretted it continually sleep.

The next year we took the Chim and had a ball. The locals loved it. Never had so many photos taken and requests for big revs; and all that in a lowly Chim.

Last time I took the Tiv to France, it popped on the overrun and three villages surrendered to me...
