Anyone take their Griff out in the snow today?

I dropped the little un off to school in the 4x4 (much to his chagrain as he wanted to stay at home and build a snowman!!!) and I was trying to explain how I wouldnt have got out of the village in the Griff. Interestingly he thought the idea of ending up in a ditch was "cool"!! we did manage a few handbrake assisted skids in the 4x4 though was was fun (and rather childish)

Did anyone chance it?

Mine was under 4 inches of snow, under two covers, at the bottom of an (admittedly small) hill - no chance!

Furthermore, I'm not insured for commuting.

Nope. But then again its still on stands with 2 wheels off
I'm in the Landy today and absolutely loving it.
(a proper 4x4 Jeffsy in which you can't do handbrake turns!)

Its true...ours is a 'soft-roader' rather than an off roader...as witnessed by the involuntary skids I did as well ("dont tell your mother Ed" )

Erm....not today but have done in the past, 2nd March 2005 to be exact CPS were kind enough to send me a photograph to prove it...I hate coppers hiding behind bushes with lazer guns, not playing fair that isn't.

Not in a Griff, but a couple of years ago I had to drive the 40 miles back from work in my Elise. It was fine in a straight line, but a prod of accelerator in 5th would induce wild wheelspin and armfuls of opposite lock - great fun. The only real issue was trying to stop

Back in the winter of 86/87 i was working in Exeter driving daily and on one day the entire stretch of M5 from bristol to Exeter was compacted snow and completely empty except for 3 lorries parked up with makeshift fires under the deisel tanks trying to de-solidify their fuel (-10 that day), God bless air cooled power. I had great fun trying to see how revolutions of spin i could induce I managed to 1080 degree spin
Older and wiser now but was a fond memory
