New Gaz coilovers
Discussion
I've just ordered a set so i suppose i am a bit late asking if anyone has these fitted and if they are any good............
But has anyone got Gaz fitted and are they any good??
Lot cheaper than nitrons that everyone seems to rave about, fully adj ride height and damping etc. Guy at 'absolutelyshocks'(advert in sprint) seemed very knowledgable about Tuscans and correct spring rates /damping. Hoping this will give the car more stability esp' at high speed and braking!

Hi, I fitted GAZ shocks to my Chim just before I sold it last week. They were certainly an improvement on the standard shocks. However I did hope that they would be stiffer than they actually were. Very good cruising though. When I took a tight slow speed corner quite fast I did get a lot of scary body roll.
Not tried Nitrons, - in summary, GAZ adjustables are better than standard shocks.

Here is a question for you, If money was no object what shocks would you buy?.
Brian would say Nitrons and I would say Ohlins.
The only problem is that money is very often an issue and not everybody needs racing shocks, they just perceive that they need them, I have Ohlins on the shelf but am quite happy with Gaz Gold on my Chim.
This is why Brian sells more sets of Gaz than Nitrons and will probably continue to do so.

On the topic of the outer limits and out of interest (I like good stuff but am not this mad!), what about
www.penskeshocks.co.uk/cardamper/4way.htm#
Quad adjustable, people could tinker forever
Seriously (ish), would even the greatest TVR driver in the world tell the difference between them and the reputable ones mentioned above ?!? Assume the only real difference here would be in amount of fine adjustability!

If you were running a Tuscan racecar these would probably be the top option but in the real world, I drive cars with just about every make of shocks and with a few exceptions (which I won't name) I am quite comfortable with the handling once decent geometry is achieved.
