I know there's a similar thread running on the Griff forum, but did any of you (suburban) South East, Chimaera owners use the car to get to work this morning?

I did (it's my only car) but, having spent most of my formative years in Scotland it kinda comes as second nature motoring in these conditions. And, to be honest, yes the back end stepped out- but you are alert to that whilst proceeding down those non gritted 'rat-run' roads- and it is easily corrected as you anticipate it.

I cut my teeth driving the TVR in frozen snow when we had that big freeze back in 2003 and applied the same principals today. From a standing start use 2nd gear and only feather in the accelerator to maintain revs. Once moving, use a gear above the usual. Of course, good tyre tread makes a huge difference.

I'd say the major hazard this morning were actually the smaller engined numpties in front who were screeching forward in 1st or 2nd. It was those that made me 10 minutes late for work- over an 8 mile commute.

I had a great crack driving yesterday. It surprising how long you can drive in a straight line with the back kinked out! hehe
I work on the top of of a hill, It took me two attempts the first time but when I got to work I realised we didn't have any milk yikes I guess I'm just gonna have to go out in my car again! Anyway the second time was allot harder as bloody traffic kept forcing me to stop, when It did I had to roll down to the bottom and get another run up.
Some pics after I arrived at work:

What wheels are those? At first I thought they were Estorils, but am I mistaken?

Yep, they are Estorils. One of the centre caps disappeared when I was driving down the M6 Toll.
I was all set to order replacement ones but I have come to prefer the wheels without the them.

I don't know the official name for that colour and the dash was already in when I bought the car.

Just checked the book, It's Mist Blue. I'll have a look for the receipt for the dash if you like?
