Speed awareness course thresholds
Discussion
An acquantaince of mine (lovely chap
) seems to be aware that he might receive a NIP for 68 in a 60 in the non-too distant future from those lovely paedophile-councillor protecting chaps at Humberside Police Force. Discounting the fact that they have identified the vehicle as an Aprilia Aprilia, all other facts on the NIP which may be received seem to be correct.
Does anyone have a clue as to whether this sort of heinous crime might fall within the eligibility criteria for a re-education session rather than the standard 3 plus 60?
As a secondary corollary question, whats the score with not signing the NIP these days?
As ever, thanks and appreciation for those who know taking the time to read and respond.

My friend allegedly slowed right bloody down for the camera, to match the flow of traffic, but was foolish enough to twist the wrist to aid progession before the lines had passed. Must have got this bloke with whom I have no connection whatsoever, honest guv before I cleared the last one, dammit..

I was under the impression these courses were only offered at 30mph limit level?

www.eastriding.gov.uk/safetycamerapartnership/questions/seminar.html
It looks like Humberside offer SACs / Speed Seminars for motorists who have been pinged at the ACPO suggested enforcement threshold (10% plus 2mph). Their website doesn't seem to state whether the Seminars are offered solely in 30mph cases or otherwise. Time for an anonymous phone call, perhaps ?
At 68, your mate qualifies on the alleged speed and he may be offered one - note that he cannot request one, they are discretionary..
Not signing in England as a get out is long since dead and buried.
www.pepipoo.com would be a mine of information for your mate..

Thanks all (from my mate, obviously..)
Blimey, crikey O'Reilly.
Turns out the NIP was for me after all, and that Humberside do run Speed Awareness Courses, of which a full report and debrief later.
Lots of warnings about not passing resulting in instapoints, and a very truculent tone about "you dont get a choice of dates", but we shall see.
I do so very much hope its sunny, as I shall of course, be attending on the bike. In leathers. Oh yes...
