VXR - 06. Any ideas if the power socket in the rear of the centre console - CD rack etc takes a normal UK cigarette lighter plug. Tried to plug in the Road Angel and either I need a different plug / adaptor or it doesn’t work! Will get the multi meter out at the weekend, but just wondered if anyone knows…

Cheers.

I think it's meant to but it's a bit hit and miss. My Nokia phone charger fits but my tyre pump doesn't. Maybe the aussies have slightly different plugs? I'm guessing it'd not be too hard to change for a different socket.

Halfrauds have a large range of cigarette lighter power adaptors. I bought a one-into-two for about £6 which had a 2 metre lead with it. The idea being that I can charge the phone and the sat-nav without having wires draped all over the steering wheel etc. I have now considered hard-wiring it into the fuse box with a 5a rating and hiding the wires completely as the sockets have double sided tape to fix them with.

Also I normally store my phone in the centre console when driving and its a pain to get it to stay there when the power adaptor is in the socket.

My socket did not work, and I had it fixed under warranty.
Then I fitted one of those halfruads 4 socket adapters into the flap top cubby hole behined the gear stick.
