If Chris Morris isn't behind this, then he has competition.

I think its real I am afraid....

My son has a DS and has never had the inclination to use Pictochat. He would much prefer to talk to other kids face to face.... maybe he's just a freak though...

I was positive that with the DS you have to physcially enter the details of a nearby DS in order to allow the systems to talk to each other.

Nope, do a scan and it picks up any DS's in it's range.

The other DS has to accept, but no details have to be entered.

This is old news. Last year similar people did similar things. Personally the DS's ability to hunt for other units and either chat or play games in an ad-hoc feature, I see it as just an inoccent feature for kids to use (and abuse as kids will) that makes certain games more fun.

Could a sexual predator use a DS as described? Well... yes, probably. Is a pedo using a DS for this? In the years the DS has been sold I've yet to hear of one court case appearing anywhere in the world, so no.

This is, quite litterally, the daily dose of fear and nothing more.

I have no idea, just got 2 at home and know I don't have to enter any details to get them to talk.
