Is it me or do people go out of their way to hear that sound?! I`ve seen many windows winding down when overtaking and one today almost got himself killed while positioning behind us!! Anyone else noticed this?

Was trying to describe to my sister how special a TVR's roar is today while we were driving down the A1M in my soon to depart Audi TT (Chim comes on Thursday!!) and two minutes later a 500 overtook me. Cue all windows opening followed by me catching up just to get another hit! Can't wait until the noise is rumbling UNDER me instead of PAST...

Going on a 3000 mile tour of Europe in June... I've made sure to take in Monaco purely so I can go through the tunnel there! I dream about it at night!!!

Oh, and not to mention all the lovely long tunnels going through the Alps....

Ah, Gareth,

You won't regret it. I swapped my audi TT for a TVR. Best thing I did in years!

For a mere £1.50 you can get a 5 minute intense hit courtesy of the Dartford Tunnel

Stopped on the A19 once in trafffic and a Nissan Primera pulled alongside dropped the window and asked if I would give the car a "rev" for him and his kids!Tyne Tunnel with the roof off is brilliant, but you have to be able to hold your breath for 10 minutes!

I have 5l with sports exhaust. Usually provokes the opposite reaction to the one you describe especially when overtaking. Creates a lot of resentment it seems--tend to creep along in 5th to keepit down when in town and wait for the empty road.

bah. the boring bastards. they dont know what's good for them! (you can guess how I drive past other cars with my V8+Sports Exhaust. And I'd want everyone else to do the same to me!)
