I finally got around to taking a photo or two of the new bike:

It's a '99 TLR with Gixxer style back end, double bubble, braided lines and twin race cans. Oh and since Saturday it has a 'busa front hoop as the TLR one was bent - possibly the result of too many wheelies paperbag

Traded it for the TLR whilst it still had some money left in it - it had 40k on the clock! It only had 26k on it when I got it 1 season ago paperbag

Watching that Fast Bikes vid that was on youtube a couple of months back, wasn't the TLR supposed to be a bit of a handful? Perhaps that's the reason for the track nutter views?

I've never ridden one, but I do think they look and sound fantastic. Saw one the other week in GSXR style colours, yum yum.

Enjoy your new bike Dave, I'd like to know how you get on, as I could be tempted to stick one of those in the garage at some point

Yeah they do have a bit of a rep for bad handling, and I saw that vid too. In truth it's not that bad, though Sunday will be my first track outing on it. I've got the suspension set up for the track, even though i've been riding it on the road and it is 'lively' and cornering at 120+ does see the bars wagging and sometimes you find yourself taking your weight on the pegs rather than seat as it bucks a bit - but I rather like that! I've had my knee down in sub zero temperatures (only once - quit while you're ahead! LOL) and it felt fine. The front doesn't feel as good as my ZX7R did, and when cornering hard you do feel like the front is moving away from you, stretching out your arms, but I'm thinking of pulling the forks up through the yokes a bit to see if that helps. It's certainly hasn't tried to kill me yet - as I say, it's just rather lively!

If I remember, i'll put a note up after my track sesh on Sunday (Silverstone GP!) detailing how it handled when really pushed! Assuming the rain holds off of course.

Here's hoping for a dry track day then - I'd love to hear how you get on! I loved my old TLS and didn't find it nearly as scary as I'd been led to believe. Mind you, maybe I never pushed it hard enough . . .

I had one of these, after the 1000s its a bit more planted, loads of torque, fast enough and comfortable for two up riding.because of the initial power being a big twin,it did catch a few novice riders out.Great bike.

Only joking about the nutter comment, you have to admit that they can be a bit of handful with the rotary damper set-up. A monster of a bike, very nice condition from the pictures too.

Can't wait until Sunday now, great to see it in the flesh.

Be good to see you Sunday mate. Let's hope for a dry day!

Oh and that tunnel isn't a road - it's just a deserted one near where I live. I was there for about 45 minutes taking photos so I'd have been crushed if it were a road! LOL

Thanks. Not much photoshop work though - just levels, curves and contrast...

This one, on the other hand, has had some attention to remove ALL logos!
