Where can you get your car weighed in the UK?

To set the record straight about the Murci weight, I thought I'd get mine weighed with a full tank of petrol to settle the debate.

I think it's heavier than 1650kg but then again I always thought I was under 12 stone til last week and 13.2 came up!!

So where in the UK weighs cars?

Go to your local public weigh bridge it will give you an instant print out. Cannot remember the exact location of one near Glasgow Airport though.

failing that route some truck yards, builders merchants have the scales. it sounds odd but i often go into a depot to collect sand and i'm weighed in and out, possibly not as accurate but just a thought.

I got my car weighed at the local council industrial waste disposal place. I expect their weighbridge has to be reasonably accurate as they use it to charge companies for disposing of stuff.

Mine was done at a local coal-fired power station weighbridge.

That's why a brought a pal's TVR for comparison, just in case the calibration was out. These things are apparently quite accurate though.

Contact you local Trading Standards, they will have a list of weigh-bridges that are open to the public for a small fee.

The local Ministry of Transport test centre will have weighing facilities. They also carry sound meters so can check decibel levels of exhausts etc. Very handy for track day regs!!

Go to any local scrap metal yard,they will have a digital weighbridge,they will probably charge you a fiver or so.

i have one in my scrap yard but i think glastonburys a little out of range for you. It would probably cost a grand in fuel lol.
