What do you use to clean your quarterlights? I use Anusol...oops sorry, wrong one...I mean Autosol but im not 100% happy with it

Any recommendations/experiences?

Jeffsy - I use the same but applied with a 0000 grade wire wool for that extra bite.

Probably shouln't but it does seem to produce a good shine

How long does the shine last till it tarnishes again? I like the idea of the WW as I have some watermarks which wont disappear with cloth

Autosol and brillo pads for me to. Anusol was just to much of a pain in the arse and Ambersol just made my fingers go mumb. :clown:

Just put a bit more effort into it,and do it more often you tired git!That car is never clean and shiny-poor thing

I had to read that question a few times before I clocked what the hell you were on about!

Right, no i've owned up to being a noddy, here's my 2p worth.
Autosol.

And you can sand them with very very fine wet and dry to get rid of the pitting - Thanks to the polishing company for that tip

To all pile sufferers - under no circumstances use wire wool and Autosol - it may give immediate satisfaction but the after effects are explosive!

Wiping over with a WD40-soaked cloth (and allowing to dry) will reduce the rate at which it oxidises again. Works well on polished exhaust trims too.

But a regular polish up is best - appearance seems to get better each time.

Keep intending to polish up the swirl pot and expansion pot under the bonnet - but these do take some elbow grease, and not good for the back either. Suppose the best way is to remove them from the car, but never quite had the inclination (despite the fact it looks brilliant on cars I have seen so polished).

Which leads to the question of what would one use to shine the swirl pot and expansion tank up as well? Same as above??...

Yes, I use Autosol too on my quarters.

And on my T bars(door openers)
Also I recently took my internal door openers off and polished the laquer off them and made them SHINE!!

My Griff is covered in green mould(no joke) at the moment,it hasnt moved since August and the Acadyiane has the luxury garage ! I really rather look forward to the big spring clean, i use that stuff but always follow with Autoglym polish afterwards.
