Steering rack

Hi there
I'm putting my - manual - steering rack back together and was wondering what should I do about oil / grease.
I seem to remember my old MK 1 Escort had the rack filled with gearbox oil.
The TVR rack is very similar but appears to have a black grease around all the moving parts.
There are 2 grease nipples on the rack if its any help.
Any suggestions on types and quantities of oil or grease ??

dont know the quantity but CV joint grease would be ideal for this application andyy,yes thats dark grey too, just dont over grease i think would be my advice,a few of strokes of the grease gun on each nipple(ooh er missus).good luck.
