Well I'm sure all the usual tedious caveats apply, but 18 months (probably <12 after remission) and 7 penalty points!!!???? on a provisional license for killing someone in a head on whilst on a double ban seems rather lax..

Especially when you consider the guy on the motorbike who got 12 months without hurting anyone..

What planet are these judges living on. If i was that child i would want the worse for Flora. Imagine your dad dies from an idiot without a full lience and with a stolen car! Who has also been disqulified twice before. It just makes me mad that a judge can let him off with only 18 months. If i went and did it now i think that i would get at least a couple of decades in jail. Poxy judges have no sense of the real world and they all should be shot!!!

Can't believe it, i went to school with mandeep flora, he was in my year. He was always a first class d1ck head in class. The stupid thing was he was in the top set for most subject, obviosly had a brain on him but still used to cause a hell of a lot of rouble. ironically he always said he wanted to be (in)famous, wounder what he must be feelng :t0sser:

Deserves all he gets.

Depends on what he was being prosecuted for - driving without insurance, driving without a license, dangerous driving? All of these are relatively minor offences. Until the new laws are in place there is no real way of prosecuting him unless they can prove it was a pre-meditated act.

Doesn't mean that I agree with it though - a little scrote like that deserves the worst (best?) punishment that can be offered. An habitual thief and hooligan with no respect for life (not even his own by the sounds of things) - sounds like the sort of person who needs a bit more than a slap on the wrist and an 18 month holiday

Carzee - exactly right.

I thought that you could get charged with causing death by dangerous driving and get upto 5 years?

Why not just charge the ar'e with mansalughter and give him 20 yrs. Thats what he deserves.

I don't get it ..

How can you only get 18 months when you have already been disqualified twice and are still disqualified at the timeof the accident.

This guy is not listening

There was I believe a discussion about the police biker who got six months just for speeding

totally crazy

What was the point of giving him a ban for the same duration as his prison sentence?

Seriously, WTF is the point?

Why not just take the f**kers licence off him completely.

We seem to assume that every one has the right to drive. Driving should be viewed as a priveledge - and it this case it should be revoked - permanently.

Couldn't agree more.
How many chances to you give the guy to kill people?

We're encouraging repeat offences by allowing them to get away so lightly.

rob you seem to miss the point?
he only had a provisional and that didnt stop him!

only way is to give him some sort of serious punishment designed to change the "ATTITUDE" he obviously has

What's he going to do inside for eighteen months? Learn more about how to nick cars, of course. He'll be at it again as soon as he gets out. The only way to stop people like this is to put them away for a long time, trouble is if we start doing this we'll be needing much bigger prisons...

No point in taking his licence away as he will still drive anyway.
He drove head on into the other car-was there some motive in this, some gang war or something??(Never read the case). PERMANENT imprisonment or something much much more is the only answer to these people (and we've had one or two up here recently) who have total disregard for other people and life in general. What sort of person are we breeding in this country nowerdays???
Shame it wasn't Flora spread all over the road me thinks.

so let me see now.. copper does 125mph on a motorway, and gets 3 months in prison for hurting no one. And this..... grrrrrr.... person gets 7 for killing people?

Other bloke does 160mph, and gets 12months for not harming anyone.

Come to think about it, Tony Martin is still inside for shooting that burglar. How come he didn't get 7 months?

What's going on? how can we respect the rules of society if there are these glaring discrepancies of "justice" ?
