hehehehe... aint seen this one in ages, I remember when HSV loaned it to Vic police in 2004 and I actually got pulled over by it a few months later in Melbourne when driving the GTS Coupe!! It used to hang around a lot near my office in Kensington, Melb. Bastard cost me nearly $200 and 3 points for answering my mobile! Not often a GTO gets one up on a GTS!

wasn't the appropriate time for a "mines better than yours" convo... you leave Vic traffic coppers well alone - they are all front bums in my book.

Surely if they want a high-speed pursuit car, they'd just buy something like an M5...Doing that sort of work would never happen, they would never be able to sell the car afterwards.

Very difficult having a 2 door police car.....

a. You need 4 doors for prisoners.
b. You need to carry a shed load of standard kit these days - Monaro boot just doesn't cut the mustard.

The Monaro police car is old news guys. Try this site for some interesting Aussie police cars, www.auspolcars.info Some good stuff in there especially the Vic Highway Patrol Commodore SMART car. What does SMART stand for? Maybe Jules can tell us, eh mate?
There's a 1/18th scale model of it by Biante. Sells at about $130AUD

It notifies observers that the car contains one or more of the Smug Moronic Arseholes from Road Traffic

Re the SMART cop car: Silly me, I should have known.
How are ya mate, long time no see? Bet you're still missing the beast.
Met some of your blokes from 33 sqn,Richmond NSW at Fairford last year. They brought a 707 over for it's last ever flight before before retiring the type.
