US Style Rear Lights
Discussion
Does anyone know where I can get a set of these US style lights - they look so much better than Mk1 mondeo ones

They are from the, oh god I've forgotten, but in any event they won't fit. The USA rear clam has a different shape to the UK rear clam. Subtle but different.

Not too sure where to get those ones from, but if you want a set of these then call Gary @ Crazy Horse Racing!

i am sure they will fit with minor trimming and sikerflex(maybe a touch of paint too),most of the cerbera lot have had the lightweight headlamp conversion done and this would be alot more complicated, but that said wouldnt they be illegal anyway

Correct, they are not legal in the UK so we have three choices - two aftermarket designs or leave the Uber Ford one's on!
I think the non e marked lenses would be the least of my troubles if they ever caught me !
Thanks for all the info I will have to stick with the standard ones i'm glad the Hyundia ones won't fit - its bad enough having mondeo parts.

How can these not be legal in the UK? I've seen UK plate Sonata's driving around in England with the same lights on. Unless they are not from a Sonata and they just look similar.

They have to be re-wired as the US indicators are red (IIRC they flash the brake light as the indicator) will not pass MOT as they are

Oh I see. That makes sense, but UK ones can still be purchased, like this one on eBay (it's an auction for the car though, not the lights)

It's possible they are a slightly different shape to the US ones, but to me they look exactly the same as the US Nobles lights, but these would obviously pass an MOT.
However there's still the problem of them not fitting. Are the rear clams for the US Nobles made differently to the UK ones then?
Yes, different mold features at the rear.
