Oulton Park drift days
Discussion
Has anyone been on one of these?
It looks like a right laugh, but it'd be good to hear people's opinions on it... Do you get much in the way of track time, does the rally stage really work as a venue and what is the instruction like? Useful or are you just left to your own devices?
Will I need to budget for a new set of rear tyres at the end of the day too? Got no idea what to expect in terms of tyre wear, done the odd track day in different cars but this seems like it could be completely different in that respect.
Don't think I want to get seriously into drifting, but it looks like a good fun day that might teach you the odd useful thing too.

I've done a couple of trackdays at Oulton whilst the drift days are going on.... although well organised, the circuit is short and doesn't appear to have that much run off. Added to this the outer edge of the track appears quite rutted. I wouldn't take my own car on it but would consider if a car was provided but that would probably be a few £££££.
Theres a couple of videos of it on 'youtube' which should help you decide....

Hope this helps.

I did a drift day (well drift 1 1/2hours due to my car breaking). It was good fun and a really good way off learning how to handle the car. I did it in amy old Porsche 924, which doesn't have an LSD, but was still really good to get sideways.
I'm abit wary of the edges of the track as I think a car with low ground clearance would possibly bottom out, but run off wasn't really a problem as your never going really fast (feels pretty quick though).
The tution was only 2 laps of the circuit, but it was enough to get going with.
