There's a ton of people going out and buying Tvr's at the moment! Where did this influx come from? Good for them, enjoy everyone

It's because they are so expensive to run.

Look on the Cerbera forum. One person has posted that it has cost him over £26,500.00 to run his Cerbera from 1999. That figure excludes petrol, insurance, tyres and depreciation.

You can run a Ferrari for less.

even if taking into account all servicing, insurance, petrol and consumables, since 1999 i bet its not bad if comparing to someone who has had 3 cars in those seven years plus all the costs. performance cars cost money, a ferrari would loose far far more than that if taking into account depreciation, fuel, consumables, servicing etc etc

One person does not a whole 60 year production run make The cerb is a completly different product like to the likes of newer t350's and sagaris'. In fact both are amazing value at these recent prices surley?

As one of the "incomers" I can explain my reasoning if anyone's interested.....

1: The financial aspect
I enjoy cars and have regularly spent significant chunks of cash on track days.
I've hankered after a TVR for years.
At today's prices it won't take many track day visits to cover the cost of owning a TVR and I can use it whenever I want.

2: The practical aspect
Okay, so they _might_ not have the best reputation for reliability, but so what? That's what the company car is for - the safe option for when using TVR's not usable. I will be stuck with my Accord diesel for another 2 years - when else am I going to have such a fantastic window of opportunity for TVR ownership?
Furthermore, I suspect that the UNRELIABILITY OF MY HONDA (see my profile for details) probably pushed me towards TVR ownership. As I said to the dealership's servicing manager: "I thought I'd get something a bit more reliable than the Accord, so I went for a TVR Tamora"

3: The decider
But, most of all, do I want to look back when I'm an old man and regret never having enjoyed the visceral experience of TVR ownership? Not on your nelly!
I know that I would have owned a TVR at some point, so given #1 and #2 above, why not RIGHT NOW.

Haven't regretted a minute of it. Yet.

Neil

Believe me, you can't run a Ferrari for less. £26,500 over 8 years is only £3,312 per year. try running a decent Ferrari on that - not a chance, I know I've tried it and got my fingers well burned.
