Conversion to Rose Joint Suspension
Discussion
Was thinkin' about this last night... one could remake the wishbones with ferrules in the end that would accept rose joints with an internal diameter to match the bolts currently used in the bushes.
Then you could machine shims to go either side of the rose joint - same treatment that is given to the upper connection on the rear hub assemblies.
Then you could change to rose joints without modifying the chassis.
Comments?

My understanding is that if you buy the Factory option it is a straight forward swap of all wishbones with no need to modify the chassis. The Factory rosejoints I assume accept the standard bolts but it may be worth a quick call to the factory to confirm this.
The main reason for me wishing to go down this route is that the wishbones are supposed to be stronger and should take a bigger pounding on track.
I have just spoke to the factory - they confirm there is no chassis modification req'd and that the kit comes with spacers so it all bolts straight on. They also confirm that they are heavier gauge steel.

... Jeffs car squeaked most of the time when I drove it in the USA... mine is a little squeaky and I havent even used it yet - gonna have to pull it apart and put more grease in the bushes.... I was under the impression that you needed to make changes to the hange the chassis, if its a straight swap I'm ordering rose joints now.
DOH - just checked the build manual.... the factory stole my idea!!!

There's photos in the build manual
Price:

The rose jointed wishbones are fabricated from a heavier duty tube and they do bolt straight on to the chassis see pic.
The price is £780 plus VAT for the wishbones and £1073 plus VAT for the set of race quality rose and spherical joints.
Best regards
Ted
