I have a Ducati 748R which has hardly been used over last 2 years. Its garaged and since I moved to London I don't get loads of time to ride it as there are no country lanes near by. Anyway, I can't bring myself to sell it as it can't be worth loads so may aswell keep it. The question is - given its value do I still need to use a Ducati dealer for a service or can anyone recommend a decent specialist? Will using a specialist be an issue for resale, surely not on an older bike? Its 2001 and only has less than 7k on the clock.

I guess seeing as the last bill came to £900 odd for service and clutch I would rather keep the cost down for something that I am not using a huge amount, BUT, I don't want to cut corners. So who should I get to do the work??

Cheers guys

I'd say using a specialist is definately the better otion given where you live, as there are no decent Ducati dealers in this neck of the woods...

Dave Robinson at 360 Old York Rd., Wandsworth used to come highly recommended when I had my Ducati.

Oh...and decent riding roads aren't that far away.

Bloody hell, 900 quid, seems to me a lot of guys are getting seen off on there service prices, give Baines Racing a ring in Silverstone for a rough idea of price, but belts need to be done every 2 years without fail, need that done or no-one will buy it!!!!!

I drove round the Country looking for an SPS with people who had not done that and wasted my time. (well 2 out of the 3)

You only need good independent servicing.....

Give Mike a call at MD Racing. He is a ducati specialist, used to be techie for a main ducati dealer, he now runs a small independant setup from Ewell. He does a collect and deliver i think as well.
