THE NUMBERS HAVE STOPPED INCREASING NOW
on the petition page! (WHY?) It is obvious that this has now been done for a reason! One can only guess it is to try and confuse the end result!

The last count on 12.2.07 was 1,246,928
It is still 1,246,928 on the petition page but is nearly up to date on the 'open' page!

So much for democracy!

Found this which gives a poor updated total of sig's so far:

Didn't their website crash last night? This might account for the holdup/less votes.

On the opposite side (against us) some wa-ker has got 1000 sig's so far! This is what it says on his petition:
HE SAID:-
Having recently received an email asking me to sign the a petition to scrap the vehicle tracking policy, I'd like to propose the opposite. I strongly feel that driving is a privilege and not a right. There are simply too many cars on the road and too many people making journeys by car when they could simply walk or cycle. Thousands die every year in road accidents and many, like myself, are forced to risk our lives in trying to get to work in a sustainable manner. We are dependent of foreign oil and the wars to secure such resources will only get worse if we don't curb our driving habits. Driving started off as a freedom but as we've redesigned our land around the auto mobile, rather than the pedestrian, it's become nearly a necessity. It is, however, perfectly possible to live a successful, car-free life. I would like to advocate that this become the norm and if this law helps driving to become even less attractive than it already is, I'm all for it. Ends.

WHAT a ------- k--b h--d
Or could this be somthing else!!!!

Re-read what he has posted, it's being quoted from another petition.

It's easy to swear at somebody who presents a radically different stance to your own and call them rude names but, while I won't be adding my name to his petition, I can't condemn it entirely. I agree that driving should be a privilege granted to those who have proven they have the skill, intelligence and courtesy to drive on our overcrowded roads and we all suffer from the too many people making unnecessary journeys by car. I would like to be be able to cycle more (and to encourage my children to do the same) but I'm too worried by the dangers faced by cyclists. I derive as much pleasure as the next PHer from a fine car or a great drive, but you can't bury your head in the sand. This is the political and ecological environment we live in. Increasingly, this is the real world.

On Monday lunchtime the petition supporting road pricing had 351 signatories, while the one for it had 1,137,202. The figures are now 1,264 and 1,425,685 so it would take an incredible statistician to try an claim people are in favour of road pricing. Shame there are 1,264 people who think that way though.

I have never sworn or been rude to anyone in any of my postings rolleyes but to be totally honest mate I could not give a flying ---- what anyone else thinks about me anyway.
I know where my hart is and that is with the honest HARD working people of this country and not with any snobs or other upper-class do-gooders that think they know what is best for us all. They know nothing about what real people are going through!
As far as that other petition goes it can only do harm not good! I obviously don't know the guy that hates cars, he is probably a nice chap to know but it is so obvious that he has got it all so very wrong! He and others cannot see what damage they will do to everyone INCLUDING themselves in the long run! They can't see why this turncoat government wants to do this awful thing to its own hard working life blood of our country people or surely they would not go against the majority! That is unless they are very well off!
About the environment. We all know about this and all the twisting of facts etc! Unless the USA, China and a few others do something out of this world then we all might as well just carry on as normal because our little bit will not make any difference at all and that is fact!

We all know they will not!!!
