Could anybody shed some light on why my browser keeps throwing up connection reset errors when I try and upload a file to one of my websites (e107 based).

I have tried using the following platform/browsers at home

OS X (firefox camino and safari) on three different macs
Win XP pro (ie7 firefox)
Fedora core6 (firefox)

The annoying issue is my webhosts support department can upload fine.

Firewall disabled on the macs, static IP addresses for the test machines.

I'm sure there is something staring me in the chops but....

Any pointers gratefully received. (before I go quite mad)

Thanks,

Danny B

Browser based file transfers are so hit n' miss. Permissions, scripts, file size allwance in PHP... best to just use FTP for pushing data.

ftp to the host works fine, unfortunately the Gallery script I'm using needs to be fed via a browser.

Tried it this morning on a 3G datacard with my powerbook and it works fine - so it must be a router/gateway issue at home.

Only this one site that I get the issue with too - similar e107 site using the same script works fine.

Grr.

Gallery? As in Gallery2? That has a load of different 'utilities' that allow for upload, although I admit it's all using the same mechanism for the most part. Try using the Gallery Remote java utility and see if that works.

Alternativley, turn on debug mode in the things admin panel and try uploading. You might find it's something utterly inane like this instance of PHP has a 1Kb upload limit or something daft.

All I'll say is check that PHPsuExec / SuPHP is being used on that site, and check the permissions of the folder to which you're attempting to write is u(or g)+w AND the parent folders of that folder to ensure o+x is set to allow them to traverse them.

Sarah it's AutoGallery - a plugin for e107 - have emailed the chap who wrote/ported it see what comes back.

Cheers Jamie, no joy - it seems the issue is at my end. Some chums of mine can upload fine, as can I when I'm not using my home connection.

Must be something I've misconfigured on my draytek 2800vg - it's running multi NAT with lots of 'custom' firewall rules etc.

Machines still dont work when hard coded with one of my /29 and in a DMZ.

I'll try with SPI switched off and multi NAT disabled later.
