Thinking of adding short shift to my 997S. The orginal Porsche kit is rather pricey. I found this one here on ebay which is supposed to work for 997's as well. Does anyone recognise this and has any views on how it works relatively to the original?

A bit more expensive for a porsche short shifter......how much is the gearbox ? when it starts to crunch and the opc say its because of the shifter youve fitted sir .....just pay for the proper porsche one..

I remember some posts on the Porsche short shift that it's all plasticky stuff and that some of the aftermarket ones are actually of much better quality

Couldn't agree more - the factory fitted one I have works well, and if tings go pear-shaped the OPC will put them right..........

I've never seen a short shifter from Ebay that was any good. I can offer you a B&M one - these are imported by Eibach into the UK and are very high quality. Email me if you like on patrickr@demon-tweeks.co.uk. Mods please remove if inappropriate, thanks.
