Hello all,

I think most people here know you can use iTunes to convert M4A's to MP3's, but the problem I have is a little more complicated.

Some of my music is DRM protected (M4P, from iTunes store), so I want to ignore these, plus I also want to avoid re-encoding my existing MP3's.

All these tasks sound relatively simple since in most cases, I can simply search for all MP3's in my music drive and copy them to another folder, but this looses my entire folder structure. Something I do not want to do and that would cause a lot of problems.

So, this begs the question....is there a program that will simple re-encode my M4A music collection while keeping the folder structure intact? There must be something in the market that can do this, but I'm yet to find it.

Thanks for you suggestions!

Pretty easy - set KIND as an option in iTunes viewing options.
Once that's done, you can sort alhabetically - AAC to MPEG.
Select the AACs and use the Convert to MP3 (set your MP3 bitrate in Preferences first) option in Advanced.
Your iTMS songs will not be re-encoded, which you've said you don't want to anyway.

Brilliant! Didn't think of that!!! Good skills and many many thanks for the suggestion. You've just saved me around 10 hours of encoding time. Now it'll only take 20+- hours rolleyes
