Chaps...need some advice

AJP V8....Looking at a potential project here, however 'numbnuts' and I need to rebuild the engine. We'll have a go, I have a budget in mind, but wondering if there is a source of engine parts, or made up engines anywhere?

Love the cerb though, and this will be the only way I can afford one.

Anyone rebuilt one? Are they particularly nauseuous.

You need Windsor, but I think he's on a tour of Iraq at the moment!

There's normally a guy selling a rebuild (technically a build) manual on eBay.

Once it's stripped it's a straight forward lump.

TVRPower supply the parts for rebuild.

Would never have had the opportunity if the engine hadn't gone pop and have been offered this one at a good price, just weighing up the pro's and cons to see whether it is feasable in my budget....

I need another project, so far there are two possibilities, my chim has been far too reliable......honest.

Basically, I will have £1500 slopping around after this particular car purchase, now that would be far in excess of what I would need with an RV8, but I have heard some nasties about the ajp.

However, stripped, it's the same as any engine, only nuts and bolts isn't it.

Just noticed on your profile you note you would like to make your chim a little erm...vocal...
As it happens I have recently made my chim shout like a madman, it's a dead easy mod and sounds fantastic...better than my wedge used to sound..

Look, I was 30 yesterday so I'm feeling damned old at the moment. It'll wear off in a minute or two

Note on exhausts was from a long time ago, and I still complain it's too quiet (compared to my Cerbie that is!) - I was one of the ones on the Chim forum persuading you to go for it, glad you got it sorted in the end! Had the Chim on straight-through pipes the day after I bought it. Still can't hear it....
