Is there something up with the home page ? If I enter www.pistonheads.com in IE6 I get asked if I want to download a file. Anyone else get this ?

OK it's not doing it now. FYI the file name was pistonheads with no extension. When I opened it in notepad it seemed to contain the HTML source for the homepage.

I had a problem with an early version of IIS on NT4, where directory browsing was enabled and a directory name ended in '.com', it treated the directory as if it was an executable and tried to download it. Which probably isn't at all relevant, but it's the best I can come up with!

I'm getting this as well now. Anyone else getting it or any ideas?
I'm running W2K / IE 6 with all up to date patches (which is probably the problem M$ has despatched a few problematical patches recently). Didn't notice it over the weekend at home (Windows XP) or yesterday on this machine, but now can't get to the front page at all?

Just had this problem too, haven't changed any settings, it says:

You are downloading the file:
/ from pistonheads[1]

Just looked into it again and I'm stumped. Any HTML gurus out there who can shed any light on it?

I had some similar problems on a site - something to do with CSS.

I'm searching now...

I was getting this problem yesterday, dunno if it's because I am selecting the address from my favourites or not. I'll have a play next time it does it.

BTW using IE version 5

Are people still having problems today? I have tweaked some things which may be causing it.

It was still messing up (same as before) so I deleted all my temp. internet files, and now it shows yesterday's page (updated Wednesday 30th April 12:39).

Been OK today, thanks.
I saw the other questions on popups and wondered if that was causing a problem as I have a popup stopper on my PC.

Yes, I thought it was me and my pop-up stopper. Seems to have gone away now...

Err - it seems to be causing problems again this morning? Is it me or is it the website?

Morning Ted!
Its seems to be exactly the same. Could only get in by going directly to pistonheads.com/gassing.
If I save the file it's about 4KB in size and seems to be complete gobbledygook - but that's probably a red herring - thought it might be some html code or something.
