Technically illegal too, not that you are likely to be pulled, HID fitment requires a self levelling system & water jets for cleaning, here is a company that supplies the bulbs:

seen adaptor kits from the US that retail for around 40-50 quid a side, plug into the standard loom. for a cheaper solution replace the normal beam lights with full beam version and have your lights raised a couple of clicks. see here for discussion on these methods - replacement bulbs are around 15 quid for two from consumabulbs.com

got mine (a pair) from autobulbsdirect.com for £15.99 delivered and it included a pair of xenon side light bulbs free. There are three types of side light bulbs, the default ones they send are the ones that fit. I just removed the piece in the bulbs with a stanley knife (took about 30 seconds per bulb). They don't locate perfectly as the tabs are slightly different, one went straight in but the second had some chopping about. I was looking for a set of HID's, tried the bulb swap and saved loads of money and install time and the difference is probably nearly the name as HID's. Part number was BLBH9X.
