MOT time - putting cats back on

Morning,
My car needs an MOT but I have decats. I have the cats to stick on. Whats the job like? Is it something I can do at home or do I need a mechanic to do it for me?

FWIW I think you can get away with putting one cat on, as only one pipe needs to pass the test.

So that should halve the time it takes to do the job

Not sure how well it would run with one cat in and the other out, but should be sufficient for MOT purposes.

For what it cost's it's far easier taking it to your local kwick fit etc and let them swap them over. It's a crap job laying on your back and struggling.

I let Austec do the cat swap and get the MOT done for me. Costs more but the only choice I have as I have the mechanical know how of a gorilla.

Find a local indy with a friendly MOT garage nearby used to doing TVRs. I was in exactly the same postitiong as you found out it wasn't necessary to put them back on, I've got linked de-cats but passed the test.

C8CDS had some exhaust work done recently near us. Can't remeber where, but he said they were very cheap and helpful...
