I think the wheels look small now.
I wouldn't get one, does anyone remember the anxiety Rowan Atkinson had with his ??
A 15 year old V12 built by Italians now coming with patchy service history
(and maybe outperformed by today's hothatches??)

I think the wheels may be the issue, it just looks too top heavy.
I don't see any hot hatches able to do 188 though!
Just be very careful with running costs which would likely be crippling. Remember its still a £180'000 V12 Ferrari despite its current price and hence will have £180'000 car running costs.
There was a recent thread in the Fezza forum about these cars as I must admit they are at seriously tempting prices at the moment - may be a good idea to look/post there.

Ah, my point is how able to reach that speed is it after 15 years?? I think many of those Italian Stallions would have fled!
On a track or around town my money would be on a Focus ST or the like (although I have lost many a bet).

I'd put a tenner down on a 1992 FSH 456GT new tyres beating a brand new Focus ST around say, Silverstone. Twice the power (maybe :P), 90bhp/ton extra (maybe), bigger tyres...

Oh come on, wheels do not maketh the car. It's actually refresh to see a car that's not overwheeled. I'm sure you could replace them with 18 or 19in wheels if you really wanted (for a price)
I'm not talking about blinging it up, but modern designs do now have bigger wheels that fill the arches, these don't and I think cars generally look top heavy without a wheel that fits the design. At the time of production there were probably reasons why it didn't have larger rims. Look at enzo etc to see Ferrari now using larger wheels on its cars. I'm not saying its a deal breaker, just think it would look better with the same wheel in a larger diameter.
Search in the Ferrari section. There have been several lengthy threads recently.
My father has had a 456 GTA for the last 3 years and we have done a few long European trips in it.
As a long distance Gt it is awesome. Comfy and with plenty of space (if there is 2 of you - its not a proper 4 seater. If anyone near 6ft is in the font seat the rear seat is only good for amputees
)
As mentioned the running costs can be frightening.
A typical service if no major problems are found is around £1,200 from a good independent.
Parts are the really worry - new bonnet is £8K and even the rubber door seals are over £500 per side.
Also check the electric windows work. They are known to go and are ££££££ to fix.
You get a lot of car for your money but dont forget it was originally a £180K Ferrari so go in with your eyes open.
