No Manual in my 996
Discussion
Apart from not knowing how to work the stereo properly and where to find fuses etc I'm sure that a manual is not essential. However, do we think that having all the books in a wallet will help upon resale? I've found a company in the states that has a set for a 1999 996, but it will cost me £115.
On another point, is a car manufactured in 1999, delivered in October 1999 and registered in February 2000 likely to be 1999 or 2000 spec?

1)What has OPC quoted?
2)Sorry to say the audio manual is almost certainly a separate document - they cost circa £20.00
I bought a manual from Porsche for my 996 and it was about £20
I got the radio manual for free off the internet somewhere and printed it off myself.
i'll try and find the link if I can
you car is of the year it was manufactured.
Using an extreme example, if a porsche was made in 1999 and never actually sold until 2007, it doesnt make it a 2007 model....the car would be 1999, 8 years old with no mileage.

Handbook for the car is under £20 from the OPC.
I read on another thread that the model year starts in September I think. If that's the case yours will be a 2000 model year car. There was also a link to a site that showed how to tell from your VIN which the model year is. I *think* a 3 spoke wheel was standard on a UK car from 2000 too.
