Photos from Hot Air Balloon
Discussion
Going in a hot air balloon early Saturday morning over the desert and want to try to get some photos. Am thinking of taking my 17-35 lens on a Canon 20D (reckon it won't be easy to change lenses on board). Any thoughts and any suggestions as to how to get sunrise shots without the benefit of tripod.
Only shot from a tethered ballon but guess it's much the same. I found the biggest issue was with haze ( though this was in humid Cambodia). Certainly take filters (skylight/UV/Polariser etc) to cut the haze down. Neck strap is good too- the basket can tip as you move around.
Photographically it's tricky to find foreground interest for you shots, if you're not careful you end up with a load of nice landscapes with no really focal point.
That said in enjoy the experience and put the camera down for a bit to appreciate it!
