Wedge Identity

Can anyone out there help me resurrect the identity of a Wedge.
I bought a box of bits unfinished project a while back, came with chassis engine block, VIN plate and receipt showing No. Plate to be E267EHS, no log book though.
Everything ties up except DVLA have no record of the car!
Chassis no. is SA9DH35PXHB019252 and it was a 1988 350i Convertible, probably written off a while back...

DVLA and RAC have no information on the vehicle.
Perhaps it has been scrapped?

If you are a TVRCC member contact Richard Sails the archivist (a very helpful guy) he can probably confirm the car / vin relationship (also engine no) and maybe its full history.
Other option is a HPI search ?

In the old days you could force DVLA's hand by getting an MOT then applying for a V5. Now you need the registration to get the MOT so that's a bit tricky. If you had any old MOT's or documents that might help.

Thanks for the replies, the only info I have for the no. plate is a receipt from a salvage yard that had the no. scribbled on, could possibly be wrong and therefore older, although it is an A frame chassis.
I'll try Richard Sails, see if he can shed any light....

Hi Rob,

My car was built in September '86 (registered May '87) and has chassis number 517. Our cars were probably on the production line together! In my case, the car was never picked up by its new owner hence why it wasn't registered until 8 months later. Do you know what youre previous UK registration was, or has it always been a Dutch registered car from new?

My car was built in September '86 (registered May '87) and has chassis number 517.

Above comments appear to make sense; my blue car was 560, built in '86 and registered Sept '87.

Hi Dan. My wedge has always been a Dutch car, it is LHD and only had the current dutch registration (from March '87). There are (were?) about 4 wedges around with about the same registration (starting with an R), and were probably built around the same time as well. Around that time the importer sold about 6 TVRs/year (and 8-10 Morgans).

Sorting the MOT for the wedge at the moment, so we will meet with me in a proper car as well.
