Hello,

Does anyone know/remember if a 1993 Eunos 1.6 Mx5 will have the full 115 hp or is it already restricted to 90HP?

I remember mazda reduced the power of the 1.6 when they released the 1.8 (To make the 1.8 look better) Is there an easy way to tell whether it's got the full power or not - I don't have a 115hp one to compare to so I can't just drive it

Thanks.

Only the lowly UK cars had the 90bhp option, the Japanese were never that stupid to sell something as daft as that in Japan.

Ahhh! Handy to know

Am I right in thinking the the Import 1.6's and restricted with the top-end speed though?

I fancy another Mx5 and I've seen a few very early ones for around £1500 - I used to have a 1.8s (UK) so I know they are fun...

118mph speed limiter as standard but just buy a £10 widget that removes it or keep it for licence's sake. Though they only manage about 5mph more with them fitted biglaugh

Yeah, my old 1.8 only used to make about 125 max (Although I think that was when the calliper was binding so it probably should have done more)

Thanks for your help Captain.
