The 996 TT Tiptronic surplus
Discussion
I know someone on here who's looking for a 996 TT, so I've been looking too. The majority seem to be tiptronics and it's got me thinking.
I'm guessing that as the cars get older, they start falling into the hands of the enthusiasts (more so than when new). You could assume these buyers will be looking for a manual.
So, what's going to happen to all the tip cars, is there a big enough market for them?
Don't want a debate on gearboxes or forced induction verses normally aspirated, just curious as to people's thoughts on the market size.
I'm not a great fan of tiptronic (and I've had three). Basically it's just a clever slush-box. Mind you, I wouldn't chose 4wd or turbocharging either on a 911.
But, as a used buy, a 996 TT Tip may be an attractive purchase. It's likely to have had a more relaxed life and won't have been over-revved or laboured.

Looks like I'm getting much closer to a turbo s at the moment so I'll be looking for deals on my 02 MANUAL
