Wondering if you chaps could help.

I would like a few 2-3 sentence reviews of the Boxster S. I am going to use the review on our website, so people who know nothing about the car will get some feedback from people who use them every day - essentially a sales pitch (ie positive reviews only)! This will be included with performance stats and an independent view supplied by us.

Any submissions to the website will be credited - we would like PH'ers to supply reviews for all our cars, so I am submitting this post to all the relevant forums.

Our car is a manual.

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Just had a 24 hour test drive in a 3.4 987.
The new Boxster S has brilliant steering and road holding. On some very bumpy B roads I know well it a hoot to drive - amazingly fast even with the bogo basic suspension & 19" wheels. At speeds where my GT3 would have been bottoming out and bumping off line the Boxster just laughed in the face of the poor road surface, somehow seaming to glide over the bumps and potholes, whilst still conveying amazing feedback through the seat of my pants and the steering. The exhaust note was noticeably deeper than my old 3.2 986 and the car felt instantly more structurally taught. The gearbox an absolute delight.

The best sports car you can by at almost any price.

Some roadsters are better looking, others are better engined, a few are better handling. There are better professions than hairdressing, but when the sun is shining, the roads are winding, the Boxster's impeccable manners, the wind and your hair is all that counts.

I had one as a loan car when my car went in for some warranty repairs. Here's what I wrote : -

As a footnote my loan car for the last three days has been a 3.4 litre Boxster S.

I have to admit to having never driven one and thus to being one of "those" bigots who didn't consider the Boxster a "proper" Porsche, (this despite people always saying what a superb handling car they are)

What an absolute revelation ! none of the 911s vices and a chassis that allows you to take huge liberties whilst carrying frankly incredible speeds through corners.

The car was a TitTronic which blunted it's 295hp a bit, but once you'd got the engine singing properly it was more than quick enough. The Tip was handy round town mind.................

If the Boxster handles this sweetly one can only imagine what the torsionally superior Cayman must be like ?

Hi

I've had my 2007 3.4 S since October - best thing i've ever bought. Awesome handling, steering, braking and in a comfortable and great looking soft top - there is no competition.

Boxster S - men want to be you, women want to be with you...... but you're still thinking about the men, aren't you.

or

Boxster S - They're gay, but then what isn't?

I think Boxsters are absolutely brilliant, btw - but then I probably have a little bit of gay in me.
