Flat Battery

Contacted my brother today to find out my battery's dead. Car is in storage at present while i'm earning a living overseas. Incidently the car had been left for 3 weeks with out being started ( lesson for everyone ) come today and its dead.

Its now on charge, or is the battery now useless..........????

Should be fine, unless it's a rickety old battery. Just leaveit on charge for a fair old while, overnight is good on trickle, and give it a chance, you'll find once thats done and it's been for a drive it should be on fighting form again unless it's deep discharged, which shouldnt really happen.

For future referance if the car's getting left for any lenth of time, might be worth getting your brother to stick an optimate III on it once a week for you.
If you're unaware what they are, bikers swear by them, they basically act like a charger but rather than simply keeping a charge going in it actually does deep cycles and conditions the battery. I use them all the time and swear by them. They're only 20 or 30 quid from most bike shops too, or somewhere like deamon tweeks will sell them

saves it happening again in the future, and if you use one on the battery as it is now you'll probably find it'll be restored to 100%

Hmm. I've been through 2 batteries this way. The battery in a Noble isn't really big enough and hence it has a very hard life. If it goes flat again on you then it'll be time to replace it.

Replacement's are 'easyish' to do - search on here for recent threads.

Cheers guys, having left it on charge over night she started fine today apparently. Me thinks that because my brother original set the alarm off before starting the car it could of drained what little power was left in the battery. He said the dash lights were barely flickering, stereo wouldn't work etc.

Home on the 1st and so excited at the prospect of returning to the noble. While owning the RS6 I never once felt the urge like i'm getting now. Gona treat her to a service when I return and after donington. Perhaps break pads as well. Priced up the 6k service with local authorised dealer 'christopher neils' who incidently are alot cheaper than plants motorsport. Heres hoping a get an exige S whilst they service mine. Need to give 2 weeks notice.

Battery replacement is (thankfully) really easy:

1 - take it to Gary
2 - drink coffee while he
3 - cuts his fingers bruises his knuckles and
4 - replaces your battery
5 - say thanks and pay him less than you'd spend on a single (far less satisfying) lap dance.
6 - drive away
7 - grin

Have the battery moved to behind the passenger seat.

It makes it easy to get at and connecting up a changer/starter is easy peasey.

Gary from crazy horses did the work, and top notch it is too. As always :-)

Oh, and I've had the ECU placed behind the drivers seat. Much nicer place for it to live too.....
