headlamps not working?.......relay? bad earth?

I have a very annoying, electrical problem which is going to fail an MOT .....which I'm starting to lose sleep over........am getting the kit car ready for summer...... flicked on the ignition, fired the engine up, side lights - OK......dipped beam = indicators come on (not flashing)........ main beam = indicators on harder (not flashing).......the headlamp bulbs are doing nothing whatsoever.......and when I put the main beam on via pulling back on the indicator arm, it just puts the side lights on ........the wirings all original.

I have took the details off the side of the 5 blade relay, as thats my main suspicion at the moment, am hoping vehicle wiring products will come up trumps there.......do the relays fail?.....the relay is "clicking" when I pull back on the indicator arm and putting the side lights on, but thts not what its supposed to do.

have double checked all fuses and they are OK.........the bulbs look fine, the 3 position headlamp switch seems OK........does anyone have any ideas?.......any long shots much appreciated?........
