New type Targa seals, a very bad fit!

I managed to souce a set of new type targa seals, complete with spacer strips and runners and finally got around to fitting them yesterday. All I can say is I am not a happy chappy! where as before I had a 3-4mm gap between the drivers side window and the seal and pretty much no gap on the pssenger side.

Now I have a 1cm gap on th driver's side and a 5mm gap on the passenger side!

Well I'm off to look at the Woolies cataloguein the hope of getting a different seal that will close the gap.

It also means that until I do find something to fix it with the car is out of action in anything but the most plesant days.

So of you are converting, beware!!

Can you not adjust it out with the height adjuster at top of the doors?

Where is the gap wildfire - top of window to the seal or side of window to seal.
I've not fitted my new seals yet but I've assumed you can fit the runners with or without the spacer to adjust up/down and because you'd have to drill and screw into the targa you could adjust side to side too.

There is no way the height will adjust THAT much. I have a spare set of doors that I tried adjusting, so I didn' have to dismantle my own ones and you can get at the most 4mm our of it, using the little screw.. I have amost 1cm gap on the drivers side.

Gap is from top of the window to the seal, that is with the spacer strip in.

Have you still got the old seals Wildfire? Measure them up against the new ones will you.
I've just put both side by side on the table here and with the seal fitted in the metal channel, without the spacer the new ones they are exactly the same 'height'
Are your new seals the same as I posted recently?

Chris,

David Gerald have the early seals in stock, cheap as chips. I'd just fit those if I were you.
