500 v 400 Shocks/springs.. whats the difference

Just became the owner of some secondhand but not too old 500 springs and shocks and just wondering whether they would be a improvement on my 1992 400's (i presume original Konis) ?
The rest of the car is standard apart from Estorils with 225/50 15 at front and 245/45 16 at back...

I just did the opposite. I went from the 500 set up with Bilstiens and Yellow springs to the original Konis with Blue and Red springs. The 500 steup had 35,000 miles on them over 13 odd years and the Konis had <1000 miles on them. I found the Konis much stiffer than the Bilstiens. The car becomes much more tight with less body roll, but is more skittish over the bumps and in the wet.

Yes the original Koni setup was excellent and much better than the later Bilsein setup in my opinion.

Does anyone know what the spring rates for the original Konis were?
