Am thinking about buying another car and was wondering if anyone knew when the current Gallardo is going to be replaced? I have heard rumours of an SV model...Anyone know the specs of this? Any help would be appreciated. ta.

iv'e read things recently regarding upping power to 550bhp so the R8 can use the current lambo's engine.
there was also a whisper of an sv type lighter car, i believe it's unconfirmed.

The R8 won't use the same engine as the Lambo just the same "block" as for it being replaced as far as I am aware not for some time, there may be different models i.e with more BHP but doubt it will be phased out for a while yet

There is definitely no substance to the rumour that there is a track biased Gallardo about to be launched.
There is no chance that it will be a stripped down (150kgs less), but still 4WD, with more power.
It certainly will not be revealed at Geneva.
Glad that's cleared up then.

I've seen pics of a lightly facelifted Gallardo, but in my opinion the styling isn't as cohesive as that of the current model, so unless you're looking for any marginal performance gains that might be forthcoming I'd buy one now before its slightly less attractive successor arrives!

A rumour I've heard is for 2008 they're re-doing the interior to make it less Audi and more custom. Anyone know more on this?

am all confused now! Basically - I can expect a facelifted car in 2008, with slightly more horsepower, but not a 2wd SV version or one that looks identical to the Green car that was knockning about in the US....

The link that andysv has posted has the same pics in it. I saw them printed in EVO.

That green one was a dealer special (Orange County if memory serves). It was never a factory car. The press just jumped all over it and got excited.
Red herring, mate (or lime green laugh).

I'm glad about that - I'm not overly keen on it. The built-up air intakes on the rear flanks aren't terribly attractive, the built-out front wings, ditto, and the inside edges of the grilles under the rear lights are set in further so they no longer line up with the inside edges of the rear lights, totally spoiling the continuity of the rear end's styling IMO. It looks like a bored teenage boy has got hold of a picture of the standard car and done some work on it with a biro laugh
