997 GT3 PASM query
Discussion
I test drove a 997 S a couple of days ago, as currently trying to decide between 997S or placing order for a GT3. I'll want to use the car quite a bit, including daily commute. Within PASM, is the 'normal' setting on a regular 'S' the same as the 'normal' setting on a GT3? Or is the GT3 'normal' more like the Carrera S in 'sport'? And therefore, the GT3 in 'sport' even more extreme than a Carrera S in 'sport'? Tbh, the Carrera S in 'sport' was quite firm, and I'm not sure I'd like that every day, so this could be important for me! Any advice much appreciated.

It's not really possible to compare the two that simply.
You really need to drive a GT3 to understand its raison d'etre. The ride comfort in 'normal' mode is totally in keeping with its character and you wouldn't want it any different.
I owned a Carrera 2S 997 before getting a 997 GT3. The 'Sport' setting on a 997 C2S is much firmer then the 'Normal' Setting on the GT3.
To be honest, the 997 GT3 is a very comfortable car and provides only a slightly firmer ride than a 997 C2S.
The 997 GT3 with the PASM set to 'Sports' is not very good on bumpy b-roads at low-normal speeds - but on smooth track tarmac it makes a lot of sense.
At least there is an option of what to choose as opposed to having a stiff car setup or comfort setup.
It is not perfect, the track purists will tell you that and they would be right but it is a very good compromise in my opinion.
