This weekend I fitted a TCS whirlwind short induction kit with performance chip and Bl**dy hell, the things evil!
The car drives much better at low revs and when you unleash it...well my god it just kept going and going and going. I just can't get over the fact that the car drives so much better and seems a hell of a lot quicker.
I've always been very pleased with the performance of my 4.5 Cerbera and went for the kit as it would replace the tatty purple pipes. The chip was something I didn't really need but thought "what the hell".
The car drives so much better and thought the extra power the re-mapped chip would give wouldn't be that noticable but the bl**dy thing is so different it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up!
If you are thinking about this mod to your 4.5 cerbera then just DO IT, don't think about it DO IT!

Take a look at the website www.trackcarsolutions.net you'll find all you need to know there.
Just don't do what I did and put the chip in upside down, you'll get the total opposite effect...thanks for the reminder Mick!

Hi Ash,
No charts of before but would love to find what it's producing now. The under bonnet looks great now too, just had airboxes painted gloss black. With the short pipes and fresh paint it makes a big difference.

I'm running decat and sports pipes John. TCS can do the chip to suit cats as well as decats. I think Joo at TCS has had slightly better results with standard rear boxes or the new rear boxes from SP, so I've read on here anyway.

Good write up. Instant power off the shelf DIY style, who'd have thought it a couple of years ago. The Whirlwind kit is a bargain and a piece of cake to fit (nowthat Joolz has given it a slight redesign), and coupled with the chip it makes it a simple upgrade for more power and improved driveability. If I was in the market for a 4.5 the this is the first mod I would do (although I'd have a bespoke map). Both the Whirlwind Kits through TCS and ACT kits through Austec have consistently been regarded as a worthwhile upgrade by Cerb customers.

I guess it depends upon how bonkers you want your car.

This should tell you all you need to know...
TVR Cerbera 4.5 short induction system.
As used on the TCS tuned 11.9 second quarter mile Cerbera 4.5
Pioneered by TCS, this induction system is a derivitive of the first Cerbera induction system to break 400bhp on a std remapped car. Further development by Julian Marshall produced a kit that reduced the fabled Cerbera "camel hump" torque curve to a minimum, and this has now been further refined into an easy-fit mail order package.
With remapping this kit shows no loss of low end power compared to a standard Cerbera, but significant gains over 3000rpm. If you want the best possible chance of a non red-rose car breaking 400bhp you have to run a short tuned length induction system. With this system , linked decat pipes and a remapped MBE ECU most Cerbera 4.5s make 400 to 410bhp on our dynomometer, so for any Cerbera in good health 400bhp is a realistic goal using this induction kit.
The induction kit comprises 8 silicone hoses in black colour, plus a generic MBE ECU chip making this a cost effective way to get much improved performance from your car.

I bought the used MK1 silicone hoses/pipes with chip to suit my de-cat 4.5 that was on the TCS Web-site. Joo did warn me that the MK1 pipes were difficult to fit compared to the Mk2 kit, but I found it no problem but they were already cut to length that fitted my cerbera perfectly.
The pipes looked new and when fitted look great with my freshly painted air boxes..well impressed.
