Oops!

Friday night.

Late

In Cardiff - with most of the roads blocked off and having lost my way to the Marriott Hotel.

*yawn*

So I dumped the car in the staff car park, because I couldn't work out how to drive round the block again.

Nice chappie on concierge desk welcomes me and I explain how I don't know how to get to the Hotel main car park entrance. Being half asleep, when he says "I'll do it for you" I just mutter "Are you sure? It's a Tuscan - do you know what you're doing?"

"Yes, Sir, no problem!" he says.

You can guess the rest (roof was on, too).......

What funny stories have you got?

Boringly, whenever somebody has had a passenger ride in the Griff for the first time, I get out and leave them in there trying to work out how to get out.

Such fun ! rolleyes I even bore myself with this.

It is funny watching, I suppose.

Last time I did this? Thursday. yes

Ah yes - the Griff. Do you find they get confused by the ashtrays!?? (Assuming you have them fitted in the doors as mine was) hehe

99.9% of people can't even get in so getting out is impossible.

Not in the Griff but in a Cavalier GSi I had years ago.Missus had made the mistake of telling me she wanted the loo on the way home one day and I was already pi$$ing her off by driving extra slowly and taking a few 'long cuts'.When we pulled up on the drive I managed to get out before her and deadlock the car .No way of getting out and the leccy sun roof and windows wouldnt work.Left her there having a tantrum for about 10 minutes before going to let her out and staying out of her way for a long long time. She never tells me if she wants the loo or not now and she always takes the back door key out the door if shes popping out into the back garden for a few seconds as shes been known to be locked out there before now aswell.

A few years back, when I had my Griff, Mrs Fubes and myself pull into the local garden centre to get some bits and pieces. The local Brownies where doing car washes for charity. Bargain! So I pull into the cleaning bay and jump out. Brown Owl (or whatever they call them?) asked if I would leave the keys so she could move it 10 foot to the 'finished' bays when done (why o why I left some 30 year old Id never met before with the car keys I do not know)

Anyway, 45 minutes later I return to the car park, see the gleaming Griff, lots of Brownies washing cars, no Brown Owl. When I asked where she was they pointed to the Griff and said "She's still in your car. We cant work out how to get out again" rofl

Fubar - That is fantastic. Bet Brown Owl wasn't overly chuffed with it though.

Lazy - I have to admit, I do the same in my Chimaera.

Something else I do is pretend the door button is a touch sensitive bit where a door handle should be. After they try it a few time the door miraculously opens.. Then the japes about getting back out agin. Hours of fun.

My dear old Mum - nearly every week. Not intentionally, honest. Shes 78 and a bit dozy at times and whenever I take her out for a meal and forget to hit the button for her she's left looking puzzled scrabbling at the door.

BUT how many times have you almost looked yourself in a NON TVR? I frequently start punching the channel buttons on the stereo of other cars!

.

She actually took it in good stead. IIRC she had got in, moved the car then must have locked the doors as they couldnt open car from outside and didnt have a scooby how to do it from the inside. I think she was only stuck there for 10 mins before I got back, but that ruins the story a little

There was a case of Journo's getting lock in one of the cars (think first Cerbera)at a Motorshow.
I think the battery was US too, so was quite a while before he was released.
Another one was one of the first Cerbs which went on fire in traffic - remember the leaking crank seals which spewed oil onto the red hot cats....well luckinly there was a fire engine in the traffic, so, they aked the screen and pulled the chaps out - the dealer had not told them about the release cables!
