My mate is in the market for a £15K ish Cobra Replica. Whilst being fairly up on 7 a like kits I know very little about the Cobras. Has anyone any first hand advice on which makes to look at / which to avoid? Engine wise he is not actually that bothered beyond it being a V8 - more of a show than go person!

Also does anyone know of an active forums that deal with cobra reps specifically?

Any advice appreciated....

Jim

Just the new forum software/provider I think..

With Cobra replicas, please sit down and make a list of requirements and what he needs the car for. There is ALOT of variations and qualities of cars. The only thing they have in common is a somewhat similiar body shape. But underneath there could be a crap chassis which cant handle, has the strength of wet cardboard and just looks blingy with chrome, magnolia leather.

Its a total minefield and RESEARCH is required before using money. This includes getting familiar with chassis designs and the power they can handle. (hint.. certain designs are only made to handle pinto's but people drop V8s into them..guess the result) Also get happy with V8 terminolgy, gearbox differences and be aware like with 7's, of shit build quality

Blatant pic of mine.
