Morning wise ones,

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with Triumph's Speed Four? I'm looking for my next ride after coming from a Honda Bros 400. I've looked at 2004 and later Sv 650's and came across a rather nice 2004 Speed Four that has piqued my interest

Anything in particular to look out for or be aware of (apart from making sure the fuel map is up to date)? I found the speedfour.org website and there doesn't seem to be any glaring problems apart from a possible fuel pipe recall.

Thanks all!

I looked into these when I was after a first bike and figured the same as you that there wasn't too much to worry about with them. They are basically a TT600 without the fairing and a few tarty bits to dress it up. The mapping was fixed later on but the reputation is still there for that. In the end I briefly got a CBR600 as it was cheaper.

Go for it, you don't see too many around.

If you are looking for a commuter bike or long distance then forget it.
On the other hand if you are after a bike for fun then go for it, you wont regret it. Over 6k the engine delivers power smoothly and the handling is better than competent, there aren’t many bikes that can out turn one. They are fun fun fun. (I ride a TT600 btwthumbup)

As an SV rider i would really reccomend it.. as a 1st bike.

Being that you have the experience of riding a 400 i think you would be better off getting speed 4 or CBR600 etc. More power, better suspension.

IMO if you get a SV you'll grow out of it pretty quickly, unless you're not too fussed about all out performance.
