308 vibrations
Discussion
Not sure if anybody can help, but here goes.
Am currently suffering a vibrating sound behind the drivers seat/ head area. Holding every bit ot trim doesn't stop it and it seems to be a lot worse around the 3000rpm mark. Somebody did say last year they thought the baffles on my exhaust were going, could it be this making the noise?
If it makes any difference it is a 1979 carb Ferrari 308 GTS.
Any help of thoughts would be appreciated.

hi
is the sound inside the cabin or the engine bay ?
has the sound gradually increased or arrived "overnight" ?
does the resonating occur as the revs drop from a blip ?

dHi,

Have noticed it before, less so but not in the cabin, but this time it was in the cabin.
I don't think so, but does apear on accelerating and decelerating.
Do you have an idea?
Cheers
Thanks F308MAN

I just realised I have seen your 308 at See Red 2005. It caught my eye as my Father-in-Law is from the Island, so I took a snap for him.
Nice plate!

Got a call from a nice man from Verdi last night who read this thread and I think he has the answer.
He suggested it was an air conditioning pipe vibrating behind the o/s air scoup due to deterioration of lagging. A quick check last night showed although the pipe was not loose, there was some movement. It is in the right place for the noise, so I will investigate further.
