HKS SPF Air Filter on Impreza WRX - Rattling Noise

I have just fitted a HKS Super Power Flow induction kit to my 2002 Impreza WRX, it performs well apart from a very annoying rattling sound when you lift off the throttle.


EVERY BLOODY GEAR CHANGE!!!!!!

Any help and advice would be welcome

Compressor surge? The old airbox will have been like a silencer.

Not really, if it is surge its just a little bit of boost exiting out the filter when the throttle closes most should exit out the DV.

It has a Baily Dump valve fitted and this can hardly be heard now. Can the dump valve be adjusted? Is all this harming the Turbo in any way?

No harm, you may be able to change the DV spring? Find out what boost the car runs then ring Bailey to get a spring suitable.
