to buy full frame or to not buy full frame, that is the ?
Discussion
Just sold my fireblade with the inention of buying the EOS5D and the 24-105f4L IS lens from www.warehouseexpress.co.uk as I think the FF would give me some really nice benefits for portrait work over the 350d.
However I got to thinking with the iminent release (hence the huge drop in price over the last month or so of the 5d) of the new replacement range that I should hold fire. Should the new model be a worthy upgrade, go for it, or take one of the fastly depreciating 5d's that will come after the launch.
That said, I am more than happy with the quality of the image that the 350 gives and think that it might just be a wise move to get the IS L lens instead of the whole lot.
What says ye? The most I tend to print to is A3 which the 350 is capable of with no issues - of course the benefit of the 5d's full sensor means the native image size in large format is A3 so would produce much crisper images... is it really worth it for now?

Firstly, the 5D is an astoundingly good camera. Whether or not it is replaced, this will not change.
Secondly, when a replacement is released, its price will be very high for a good few months. For the price you can get the 5D and the 24-105, you will probably 'only' get a body.
Good luck with the choice

oh yes, agree and I know the new one will fetch a high premium for a long time. I think I might just go with the lens for now - they wont really get cheaper but the 5d body will, and the 1ds... I might use the lens and 350d for a further year or 18 months and hope we soon get close to 24mp sensors
