I have a Hdi90 306

Seen plenty of Hdi110 engines from 406's around. They have intercooler and more ECU control over boost/wastegate.

Tempted to drop one into my 306. Weekends worth of work and £400 for an engine with bits is pretty cheap considering.

My main issue is the ECU. Is it the same, just with different software, or is the box completely different, any loom issues or anything?
Is it a plug in and it works with the new engine (just need the immobiliser chip from the key) or is there different loomage issues etc to contend with?

Thanks for any help at all.

I see 2 ECU's listed for the Peugeots in my software, the 306 and 406 uses 2 types of 2 litre HDI, one is listed as 8 valve but i think both of them are 8v confused
The one use a Siemens SID801 in the 8v and the other is a Bosch EDC15C2.

307 options are 2.0 8v HDi Siemens SID801, 2.0 HDi Siemens SID803A, 2.0 HDI 110 PS Bosch EDC15C2.

Did a bit of Ebay researching...

The early 406 Hdi's used a Bosch EDC15 wheras mk2 ones were Siemens from what I can tell.

In *theory* the Hdi110 406 Bosch ECU will plug straight into the 306 Hdi90 loom... it's just if there are pins etc connected or not.

Already moved on anyway, find car ECU/electrics stuff a bit of a nightmare

Just bought the Hdi110 intercooler and piping, so just going to fit that, get some decent airflow to it, then tweak my map to suit... not as good as the ECU boost detection/wastegate control of the Hdi110, but hey, only cost me £70 and I bet it won't be *that* far off when I've finished, it'll just mean good old mechanical tuning (yay) rather than ECU fiddling
