Hello Guys,
I've recently sold my CSL, which was a wonderfully complete car that ticked all the boxes for me, in search of finally owning a porker!

I was initally looking for a C4S as i love the way they look and sound. Speaking to a few fellow porker owners they have recommended i go for either a GT3 or Turbo.

Coming from highly tuned NA engined cars, the GT3 has caught my eye.

Being a complete novice in the world of Porsche, I was wondering if any owners could give me some advice in my search. What to look out for, what to avoid and how i can avoid any major bills straight away.

I'm looking to buy privatley, as i can not afford the dealer prices. Is anyone selling up? Either a nice turbo or a MK2 GT3.

I've done the usual searches on the forum, but would be greatful for any up to date info on these wonderful cars.

Would be very grateful for any words of wisdom,
cheers

GT3's are great cars I run one as a daily driver they are very stiff so on London crap road serfaces you need to keep a close eye on ARB drop links etc as these can go loose but are a 10 minite job to tighten up.
I bought a late 04 car with 2000 miles on the clock last june and it has been perfict apart from the suspencion noise but once tightend back up its great.
The only other part i have had issues with is the front splitter grounding but it is so cheep its virtualy a consumable you can fit yourself.
I tried the CSL at a hindhead dealer it was great but i dident like the alcantara its personal I guess i was just worried about how it wold last.
I have the sports seats rather than buckets and find them better for every day and prity good on track natraly this means that I dont have a harness but i dont mis that,
Try a comfort and a clubsport and see which you prefer.

If you want a LHD there are several virtualy new ones on www.mobile.de

Hi there, I have done a similar journey myself. I had two CSL's last year and had a 996 C4S for the last 7 months or so. I took delivery of a mk 2 GT3 on Saturday.
The C4S was a great car, very nice to drive but lacking a little grunt.
If your after something a bit more hardcore the GT3 is a logical step from the CSL.
I have heard lots of great things about the turbo too, but have never driven one so unable to comment.
I should point out the GT3 is weekend use only and even then very little mileage, I don't think I would like to run it more than that at this stage...however it's very early days into my ownership!
I was lucky to find a private seller that looked after the car had a good spec, full service history and warranty remaining. Keep an eye on the classifieds!
Good luck!

I know of an immaculate low mileage pampered speed yellow one, that might be for sale privately, think it's an 04 with buckets & carbon bits inside.
I can check if you're interested, it's in NE Scotland.
